Sometimes in this business, an opportunity arises to do something that combines every skill and resource at your disposal for a really great cause. Here at Impact, we just recently wrapped up a project like that, and I wanted to take a minute to convey what that means to us.

For the second consecutive year, Impact proudly served as a Premiere Sponsor for the Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall Gala. The annual Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall Gala is the culminating event in which the Grand Prize Winner of the Toyota of Scranton Challenge is announced.

DrawingA Great Cause To Support
The Toyota of Scranton Challenge, in association with the American Cancer Society and Coaches vs. Cancer Program, asked 42 area high schools to nominate extraordinary members of the Class of 2014 to represent their school in the Challenge. Principals were asked to nominate their students who met specific criteria, including a 2.5 GPA, and involvement in the Coaches vs. Cancer program – a community program that gives basketball coaches and ordinary citizens alike an opportunity to help increase cancer awareness by promoting healthy living through year-round awareness and efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy programs. Voluntary participation in community service activities, extracurricular activities or organizations is a key factor in the nominations as well. 5 finalists were chosen, and the Grand Prize winner was handed the keys to a 2014 Toyota Corolla from Toyota of Scranton, and all 5 finalists were awarded $1,000 scholarships. The winners were announced earlier this month at the Coaches vs. Cancer gala BasketBall Dinner at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

Pleased To Be A Part Of It
This is a truly remarkable event, and we’re extremely proud to have donated over 120 hours of creative work for the 2014 version, valued at over $10,000, designing and producing everything from the event invitations, to posters, to napkins, to table tents, and so much more.

Having raised over $276,000 locally to help find a cure, support local patients on their road to recovery, and support those patients that have been diagnosed with cancer, it’s campaigns like this that are helping to make real strides in the fight against this dreadful disease, and the entire team at Impact couldn’t be more pleased to have been a part of it.
